1. Who we are
This website, egypttours-meritamun.com, is run by Egypt Tours Merit Amun, a travel agency organising private tours in Egypt. We are responsible (the “controller”) for the personal data collected on this website.

2. What you send us through our forms
We only receive personal data you type into a form. You can browse the whole site without giving us any.

With every form we also store the date and time and your IP address, to block spam and repeated automated submissions. The short-term counter used for this is deleted automatically after one hour.
Your messages are stored in a database on our web server and sent to our mailbox (info@egypttours-meritamun.com). Only our team can read them. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
3. Google Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 only if you agree in our cookie banner. It shows us how many people visit, which pages they read and which tours interest them, so we can improve the site. Until you accept, the Analytics script is not loaded at all: no request goes to Google and no Analytics cookie is set.
- Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (parent company Google LLC, USA).
- What is collected: pages viewed, time on site, device and browser type, approximate location (country/city), how you reached us, and events such as sending an enquiry. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.
- Cookies:
_gaand_ga_<ID>, which keep a random visitor ID for up to 2 years. - Transfers outside the EU: Google may process data in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
- Your choice: Accept and Decline are equal choices, and the website works fully either way. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer; if you withdraw consent, the Analytics cookies are deleted. We ask again after 6 months. You can also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Your choice itself is saved in your browser’s local storage (key ma-consent, not a cookie, never sent to us). Apart from that and the language choice (section 5), our own website sets no other cookies. Fonts are stored on our own server, so no font request goes to Google.
4. WhatsApp, email, phone and social media
- WhatsApp: the WhatsApp buttons open a chat with us (+20 120 013 4196), with the tour name filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send. The chat is handled by WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Limited / Meta), under WhatsApp’s privacy policy. We see your phone number, name and the messages you send us.
- Email and phone: if you write or call us directly, we use your details only to answer and to organise your trip.
- Facebook, YouTube and share buttons: these are plain links. No data goes to these networks until you click one; after that, their own privacy policy applies.
5. Translation, hosting and server logs
- German version (GTranslate): the language switch and the pages under /de/ are provided by GTranslate (Translation Services USA LLC). To show the switch and the translated pages, your browser loads a script from GTranslate’s servers, which receive your IP address and the page you request. GTranslate may store your language choice in a cookie.
- Hosting: the website runs on servers of A2 Hosting located in the European Union (Germany). The provider processes data only on our behalf.
- Server logs: like every web server, ours records technical access data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type and referring page. These logs are used only for security and to fix errors, and are kept for a limited time only.

Sharing: we share your data only with the providers named above (hosting, Google, GTranslate, WhatsApp when you use it) and, if you book, with the hotels, cruise operators, drivers and guides needed to carry out your trip. We never sell it.
Outside the EU: we are based in Egypt, so your enquiry is answered from Egypt. Egypt protects personal data under Law No. 151 of 2020, but the EU has not issued an adequacy decision for it. We send your data there only to answer your request and organise your trip (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time, free of charge, to:
- tell you which data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it, or delete it when we no longer need it;
- restrict or object to its use, including for the newsletter;
- withdraw a consent (newsletter, review, Google Analytics) with effect for the future;
- send your data to you or another provider in a common format.
Write to info@egypttours-meritamun.com; we answer within one month. If you live in the EU you can also complain to the data protection authority of your country (in Germany, the authority of your federal state). In Egypt, the competent body is the Personal Data Protection Center.
Children: our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 except the number and age of travelling children you give us.
Changes: we update this policy when the website changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
